General Questions

  • Where are you located?

    The Health Center at Galloway is located at 66 West Jimmie Leads Road Galloway, NJ 08205


  • What are visiting hours?

    Recommended visiting hours are from 8am to 8pm – however since we are a 24 hour care facility, families do have access to their loved ones at any time. 

    (please know if you come to visit after 8pm you will have to be buzzed into the building by the evening nursing team.   If it take a while please know they might be attending to the residents and they are priority). 


  • How is the care?

    We have an amazing care team in the building, we care for you like you are our family, like our mom, dad, brother, sister..Our resident and family satisfaction rating is over 95% for care!


  • How is the food?

    Our chef goes above and beyond to make your dietary needs edible with taste and contentment.

    We work with residents and their family members to help us design a meal plan that will help mom/dad through the recovery process, through a selective menu process.

    We have a monthly breakfast club, in our 1st floor dining room for a restaurant style service.  


  • I have a pet, can I bring my pet into your facility?

    Unfortunately we do not allow live in pets in the facility, however your pet can visit you during your stay with us.  Please present your pets vaccination paperwork when you visit.    


  • Do you have private rooms?

    We do have some private rooms, however, priority is given to residents who may have a need for isolation or their current health status.  I cannot guarantee an admission to a private room.  We do try our very best to make mom/dad comfortable.


  • If my mom/dad share a room and don’t like the roommate how do you handle it? Can we change room?

    Mom/dad comfortability is our priority, we will try to find them another roommate that they are comfortable with.


  • Do they get a phone in their room?

    No, however, we can provide a temporary phone for mom/dad.  Many of or incoming admission do come in with their cell phones.

    When a family calls the building the nursing team will provide a location for their loved one to speak with them. 


  • Do you have cable services? My mom/dad likes to watch their favorite programs

    Yes, cable, cable box and a tv is provided to them at no additional cost.


  • Do you have activities for mom/dad?

    Yes, our Activity Director has created a robust calendar of activities. The Activity Team is always seeking new and fun daily activities for our residents.


  • What is the nearest hospital to your facility?

    Atlanticare Hospital is the closest hospital to us. It's actually right across the street!


  • What insurance do you take?

    We take most major HMO health insurances, Medicare, Medicaid and private pay.


  • Do you have doctors stationed in the facility?

    No, we are a 24/7 Nursing facility, our doctors visit the residents as needed in the building.

    We have Nurse practitioners on site throughout the week.

     



Short Term Care/In Patient Rehabilitation

  • What is Short Term Care?

    Short term care is provided to someone with a chronic medical condition that is in-need of temporary medical aftercare following a life changing alteration such as surgery, injury, illness, or other medical condition. Services normally last several weeks, a few months, maybe longer as it all depends on the seriousness of the patients condition.


  • Do you allow residents who arrive for short-term care to transition to long term care?

    We do transition residents from short term to long term care.   The facility will guide the residents and their family  through the process if they are eligible for long term care.

  • How often will mom/dad get PT and OT in your facility? Do they get both?

    Mom/dad will have access to PT, OT and speech therapy based on their clinical need.

  • Are your nurses certified?

    We have Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants.


  • How many nurse per resident is in your facility?

    We go above and beyond the State’s guidelines, we have RN’s, LPN’s, RN supervisors, unit managers, CAN’s and restorative aids. 


  • Do you take them out of the building?

    The facility has an outdoor patio that is utilized for resident activities.

  • Can I personalize the room for their short stay with you?

    Yes, we encourage family of our incoming resident to personalize the rooms, help us make it comfortable for their mom/dad



Long Term Care and Memory Care

  • What is Long Term Care?

    Long–Term care is for those individual with a long-lasting ongoing medical condition, such as Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or a permanent disabilities, that need a high level of care when their loved ones can no longer provides in a home setting. 


  • Will my mom/dad insurance cover long-term care stay?

    It depends on mom/dad type of insurance.

  • Will Medicare cover my mom/dad stay?

    No, Medicare will not cover mom/dad long term stay with us 


  • Will your facility help me with the Medicaid process?

    We can help guide you through the process, we can provide you the list of items that you will need to prepare for submission to the MedicaidOffice.  


  • Do you have specialists in your facility?

    We have podiatrists, psychologists, psychiatrists, optometrists, dentists,    

  • Will mom/dad get PT/OT?

    Mom/dad will have access to PT, OT and speech therapy based on their clinical 

    need.   Every resident is screened on a quarterly basis.  


  • Can I take mom/dad out of the facility to celebrate the holidays?

    The interdisciplinary team will evaluate each resident individually to determine the ability for you to take them home for a visit or a short stay at home.   


  • Does Memory Care include medication management?

    Proper timing and dosages of medication are vital to memory care, so memory care facilities generally include medication distribution.

  • Does long term care insurance cover Memory Care?

    There is a range of long term care insurance policies, each covering different expenses and situations

  • How do I know if my loved one needs memory care?

    Because the onset of dementia is usually a slow and gradual thing, it can be difficult to recognize when care is needed before a crisis occurs. Recognizing the need for care early can be very important, however, as care in the early stages can provide benefits to the disease’s trajectory as it progresses. A doctor’s diagnosis is the most important piece, but on a daily basis it’s vital to recognize warning signs such as confusion about where they are, losing track of time, trouble managing finances/paying bills and trouble performing familiar tasks.
